Miss V was very professional when I first walked in. She Was doing hair on another customer, but she took the time out to introduce herself and asked me to have a seat and she will be right with me when she’s done. The weight wasn’t long. She had the other patient ready to go and she was waiting for me to get in my chair. She’s very pleasant not disrespectful at all as well as her daughter. We sit and had conversation, but she was doing my hair and I enjoyed every minute of it. The atmosphere was quiet. The TV was showing something that I really like and it made me feel very comfortable. I would recommend Sylvie and Style V Braiding House to others for braiding services. Overall I am happy with the service, style, and plan to return for future services.

Portfolio and Style
I did not see a braided mohawk style in any of the online galleries that I viewed before booking, so I sent a message to Style V Braiding House and they responded to me in a timely manner. The style that I received was just what I asked for.

Consultation and Communication
When I contacted Style V Braiding House to ask questions about pricing, styles available, and any pre-appointment requirements I was treated with respect and all of my questions were answered. I heard the braiders speaking in French, and while I do not speak/understand French, I make an effort to communicate (via Google translate) in French for better understanding and to create a good relationship for future appointments

Hygiene and Environment
My comfort was taken into consideration the entire time of my appointment. I was offered water throughout the experience, there is a vending machine very near the salon suite and the bathroom was clean and maintained.

Pricing
As a person who has not worn braids for several years, I wasn’t sure what to expect as far as pricing for hair and the braiding service. I had to pay a deposit to confirm my appointment and the final price was adjusted at the end, I guess due to the style. Including the tip, I spent $20 over the expected price. Given how well the style looks, I will not complain. I will get more clarity for the next visit.

Other Considerations
My style (braided mohawk) took 6 hours to complete. Given the level of complexity executed in the style, I think that timeframe was appropriate.

Only Sylvie worked on my hair until the last stages of braiding. The other braiders were gentle, fast, and were simply working on the curled ends of the braids.

It appears that this is a family business and the working relationship was peaceful. I enjoy watching parents share their skills with their children.

So far - 17 days from my appointment, my hair stills looks fresh and the compliments on the complexity of the style and clean lines and over-all style - I intend to go back to get my hair braided again....more
